Elevate sells bicycles, cross country skis and carries a variety of product lines including Cannondale, Fuji, Jamis, Scott and Eastern BMX.

Chris Pitts, 37, opened his Saratoga Springs shop at 35 Van Dam St. 13 years ago under the name All Outdoors, but later changed the name to Elevate Cycles.

Pitts and his wife will operate the two stores in conjunction with part time help, including three to four employees in Clifton Park.

Win for Kwanzaa

Kwanzaa is a seven-day cultural event honoring black and African heritage. Evans said that based on the evidence presented, "it has not been shown to be a religious celebration."

The Chancery court room was standing room only Wednesday morning, filled with members of the media, curious spectators and a handful of Kwanzaa supporters dressed in colorful African garb.

Reaction was mixed. State Rep. G.A. Hardaway, D-Memphis, called it a case of the "Grinch stealing Kwanzaa."

Memphis resident Ron Crook, who was in Chancery Court for other business, said the verdict could open doors for other spiritual organizations to come knocking for the right to host events. "It just becomes a big mess." he said.

Representing Thomas, attorney Anthony Pietrangelo argued that allowing the celebration would be discriminatory, and in violation of the First Amendment, because the county attorney had denied Thomas the right to host a Christian party yet allowed the Kwanzaa event to take place.

Product Recalls

A Chinese candy maker has recalled some of its lollipops after metal fragments were found inside at least two of the candies.

Sherwood Brands recalled all of its "Pokemon Valentine's Cards and Pops" Thursday after a razor was found in one lollipop, and what appears to be a metal staple was found inside another.

The candies were purchased from different stores near Lakeland, Florida, however the recall is nationwide.

Authorities believe the metal was likely inserted before the candy hit store shelves.

'Ozark Jubilee' guitarist Haworth dies at 85

In 1990, he joined Jan and Charles Lee to form the Goodwill Trio, named after his family's group. They played in churches and for senior citizens, Jan Lee said.

"And everywhere we went, people knew Speedy Haworth. He was just a staple for the Ozarks."

Jim Luttrell worked with Haworth on "The Slim Wilson Show" and again in the last four years. In between, Luttrell performed regularly with the Presleys in Branson.

Performing with his friend these last few years, he said, "were some of the best times of my life. And I've been a musician for 69 years.

"I will miss him as long as God lets me have a memory."

Why The Right Loves a Disaster

I see 100s of thousands of cluster munitions planted in Southern Lebanese farmlands. And most importantly, I see a new flux of US reconstruction dollars flooding Lebanon. Is this the example of “true" American influence. France's new leader seems to think it is good.
